Chef Anthony Ricco is the executive chef of Spice Market. We caught up with him this week and asked him to give us some recommendations for his favorite dining destinations in New York City.
What is your favorite restaurant of all time:
My favorite restaurant of all time is Jean Georges. It has the best and most flavorful tasting dishes no matter what season. The classic tasting menu is always my favorite but the seasonal tasting menus are also amazing. It is a combination of service and food that makes this my favorite all time restaurant.
Where is a great place to get fall seasonal dishes:
With fall being here, I recommend ABC Kitchen. The Chef Dan Kluger does amazing things with seasonal ingredients and fall is my favorite time of year and I appreciate the flavors that they put together at ABC.
Most underrated bar?
Brooklyn Star in Williamsburg. The Doctor Pepper Cocktail is proper! Plus they have chicken and waffles for brunch, a favorite of mine.
Another great place to get Southeast Asian food besides Spice Market?
A go to place for Southeast Asian food for me is Fatty Crab because of the whole chili crab. I like getting dirty and this is the perfect dish for that.
Best cheap eats?
Grandma Roses Pizza in Greenpoint Brooklyn. Panda Fries are the way to go!
