Party Like It’s 2012: CityEats’ Ultimate New Year’s Eve Guide

Whether you’re up for a night of full-on wining and dining or would rather watch the ball drop in more low-key style, we’ve rounded up the happs across The District for this New Year. You’ve got a few weeks to book, so make the most of this advance notice and lock down a night to remember (or not — no judgement).

Asia Nine:  Get a head start on celebrating or find help with your post-New Year’s relief — Asia Nine has you covered on both counts.  In addition to a dinner bash with lots of free perks, they’re also providing drink specials for ambitious revelers between 3 and 7am, and are hosting a “Morning After” brunch with $1 mimosas, Bloody Marys, and discounted movie tickets.  For more details, or to make a reservation, contact Asia Nine at 202.629.4355.

Bistro Francais:  Chef Gerard Cabrol and his Bistro Francais team are throwing a New Year’s fête with a special three-course prix-fixe menu for just $59.   A complimentary glass of champagne and noise-makers will be offered to encourage diners to keep the festivities going all night, and celebrate as the French do. Co Co. Sala:  Co Co. Sala’s executive chef, Santosh Tiptur, is preparing a special “sensorial” prix-fixe menu for $125 per person, or $185 with wine pairings.  The meal includes six courses sure to keep you fueled well into the early hours of 2012. Equinox:  The award-winning Equinox is offering three different tasting menu options on NYE.  Choose from three, five, or seven courses featuring seasonal specialties like pan roasted Nantucket Bay scallops with honey crisp apple salad, or Hudson Valley foie gras terrine.  The full menu, including optional wine pairing selections, is available online and reservations can be made by calling the restaurant at 202.331.8118.

Fusion Restaurant and BarYour glass of bubbly will be full all night at Fusion.  The neighborhood fave for Indian will be offering a four-course meal with unlimited sparkling wine for $45 per person. Bring the kids because they can eat for just $5.00.  Make your reservation here.

Grand Cru Wine Bar and Bistro Grand Cru is hosting a special dinner party by chef J. Trent Conry. The $59 prix-fixe menu includes four courses with multiple offerings.  Diners who are game to keep the party going can purchase discounted tickets to the Ball Drop Champagne Party.  Starting at 10pm, guests can enjoy a variety of tapas, and an open bar of wine, beer and of course, bubbly.  The cost is $40 for diners, and $69 for those who wish to attend only the party.  Call 703.243.7900 for reservations.

i Ricchi: If you’re in the mood to wine and dine with someone special, the charming trattoria will host a “Candlelight Tuscan Dinner” featuring several of the restaurant’s most popular dishes and authentic Italian specialties.  An a la carte menu and an $89 prix-fixe menu will both be available to diners and will include party favors, a complimentary champagne toast, and free valet parking.  Make a reservation here for the a la carte menu, or get details on how to reserve the prix-fixe.

Jake’s American Bar and Grill Just because it’s New Year’s Eve, it doesn’t mean you have to break the bank. Jake’s actually offers the opportunity to save.  They’re serving up their full menu with the addition of some boozy specials including: half price select bottles of wine, $4 select draft beers and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.  Feel free to (literally) make it a family affair, because children’s entrees are no additional charge.  Reserve your tables through CityEats.

Lima Restaurant and Lounge:  Latin hotspot Lima is hosting what is guaranteed to be a swanky soiree. They’re offering several packages from table service reservations, to a party with premium open bar, hors d’hoeuvres and party favors, to pre-fixe dinner options.  So gather your friends and ring in the new year in sophisticated style.  Call the restaurant at 202.789.2800 for more details.

The Majestic: An Old Town classic, The Majestic will offer a three-course dinner menu priced at $75 per person (excluding tax and gratuity). A la carte menu items will be offered all evening at the bar. For a small supplement, diners can indulge in Chef Overmiller’s featured items, including Osso Buco with Saffron Risotto and Roasted Pearl Onions as well as Foie Gras Two Ways, seared and torchon. PX:  Todd Thrasher and co. will be mixing up craft cocktails in a ‘winter-wonderland’-like setting, complete with chandeliers, candlelight accents, and snowflake decorations dangling from the ceiling.  The 1930s social lounge will be open between 6 and 2am so is the perfect place to go for pre- or post-dinner drinks with friends. Restaurant Eve:  Indulge yourself in a night of fine dining and kick off 2012 in the elegant Tasting Room at Restaurant Eve.  They will serve a seven-course tasting menu, with two options to choose from for each course.  The cost is $180 per guest (exclusive of tax and gratuity) and wine pairings selected by sommelier, Todd Thrasher, are available at an additional cost of $99.  The Bistro is offering a pre-fixe three-course dinner for $95 per guest (exclusive of tax and gratuity).  The bar will serve the bistro menu with pricing à la carte.  Email clinton@restauranteve.com with “NYE” in the subject line for reservations.

Rogue 24: Ring in 2012 at Rogue 24′s New Year Eve cocktail party.  Chef RJ Cooper and team take center stage in the kitchen on NYE to serve up some favorite dishes from the year; JP Fetherston and Derek Brown keep the libations coming with cocktails and bubby.  Get the details and purchase tickets to the party.

Smith Commons:  If a reasonably-priced dinner and dance party are on your NYE checklist, you might want to head over to H Street’s Smith Commons. For $60, guests can partake in complimentary hors d’oeuvres from 7-9pm, a three-course meal, a glass of Moet for a midnight toast, and live music with DJ entertainment until 3am. Nice, right? Virtue Feed and Grain:  For New Year’s, the restaurant will offer the full menu, in addition to feast specials of lobster, prime rib, and whole suckling pig.
